A quick and creamy stovetop mac and cheese recipe with only three ingredients, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
  2. Return macaroni to the pot. Add milk and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until milk is hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove from heat. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, use whole milk.
  • You can substitute other shredded cheeses for cheddar, such as Monterey Jack or a cheddar blend.
  • Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste if desired.
