A quick and flavorful Cajun-spiced tuna steak with a restaurant-style crust, perfect for a healthy weeknight meal.

  • 2 tuna steaks (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon blackened seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: Avocado-mango salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub both sides of the tuna steaks with blackened seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: 115°F for rare, 125°F for medium-rare, 135°F for medium.
  5. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Serve with avocado-mango salsa if desired.

  • For grilling: Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill tuna for 2-3 minutes per side.
  • For air fryer: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Air fry tuna for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway through.
