Quick and easy pan-seared pork chops with a sweet and savory brown sugar garlic sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless pork chops, 1-inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove chops from skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in brown sugar, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return pork chops to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chops.
  8. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes, or until pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  9. Stir in butter until melted.
  10. Serve pork chops immediately with the pan sauce.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure pork is cooked to 145°F (63°C).
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or a side salad.
  • Adjust brown sugar and soy sauce to your preference for sweetness and saltiness.
