Make the famous Chicken Salad Chick Grape Salad at home with this easy copycat recipe. This sweet and creamy salad combines juicy grapes, a rich dressing base, and a crunchy pecan topping, making it a perfect side dish for potlucks or holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs seedless grapes (red and green mix)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Cut any very large grapes in half. Place the grapes in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the grapes. Gently fold the dressing into the grapes until all grapes are evenly coated.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. In a small, dry skillet, toast the chopped pecans over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until fragrant. Let them cool slightly.
  7. Just before serving, sprinkle the toasted pecans and brown sugar evenly over the top of the chilled salad. Do not mix the topping in.
  8. Serve cold as a sweet side dish or dessert salad.

Notes

  • For best texture, ensure the grapes are completely dry before mixing with the dressing.
  • You can prepare the grape and dressing mixture one day ahead. Add the pecan and brown sugar topping just before serving to keep the topping crunchy.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
