Ingredients
Scale
1 package (14.3 ounces) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
Instructions
Crush 12 cookies coarsely for mixing and set aside. Crush the remaining cookies finely for garnish. Place the crushed cookies in a bowl.
In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Set the whipped cream aside.
In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined and creamy.
Beat in the milk until the mixture is smooth and light.
Gently fold the coarsely crushed cookies into the cream cheese mixture.
Fold the prepared whipped cream into the cream cheese and cookie mixture in two additions until just combined. Do not overmix.
Spoon or pipe the mousse into individual serving glasses or a large bowl.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Before serving, sprinkle the finely crushed cookies over the top of the mousse.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use heavy cream that has been chilled overnight.
If you prefer a firmer mousse, chill it overnight.
