Make this rich, cheesy ground beef pasta in one pot in under 30 minutes. It is a simple, satisfying comfort food perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces pasta (like rotini or penne)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the dry pasta to the pot. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve immediately. This is a high protein beef pasta dish.

Notes

  • For a high protein beef pasta version, use lean ground beef.
  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella for a milder flavor.
  • Stir well after adding the cheese to prevent clumping.
