Make this rich, savory Creamy Parmesan Garlic Beef Bowtie Pasta on the stovetop. It is a straightforward, family-friendly comfort meal ready in about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 8 ounces bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the olive oil, minced garlic, and diced onion to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the onion softens and the garlic is fragrant.
  3. While the beef cooks, boil the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.
  4. Reduce the heat under the skillet to low. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add the drained bowtie pasta directly to the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss everything together to coat the pasta evenly.
  7. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash or two of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired creamy consistency.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley or extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a deeper flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-shredded.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or ground Italian sausage for the ground beef.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic for a slight kick.
