Make this crowd-pleasing creamy apple salad, inspired by Snickers flavors, using simple ingredients for a quick, delicious side dish or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large crisp apples (like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), chopped
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped milk chocolate candy bar (optional, for Snickers flavor)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. If you are not serving immediately, toss them lightly with a splash of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  4. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until just combined. This is your base dressing.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples, marshmallows, chopped nuts, and the chopped chocolate candy bar, if using.
  6. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the salad and fold it in lightly to create ribbons of flavor.
  7. Cover the bowl and chill the apple salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  8. When ready to serve, drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top for garnish.

Notes

  • For a healthier apple salad option, substitute the heavy cream and powdered sugar with 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt mixed with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup for the dressing.
  • This salad works well as a potluck apple salad idea or a simple lunch component.
  • Use Honeycrisp apples for the best sweet crunch.
