Bake this moist apple cake featuring fresh apples and warm cinnamon, finished with a simple caramel glaze. This recipe offers comforting fall flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 cups chopped fresh apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Caramel Glaze ingredients (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped fresh apples and ground cinnamon.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared Bundt pan.
  5. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare your caramel glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith for the best texture and flavor contrast.
  • For an extra moist cake, you can substitute apple sauce for the water listed in the base recipe.
  • If you do not have a Bundt pan, you can bake this in a 9×13 inch baking dish for about 30-35 minutes.
