Elegant and easy goat cheese and honey bites made with flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 12 equal squares.
  3. Place the puff pastry squares onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the softened goat cheese and 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix until smooth.
  5. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the goat cheese mixture onto the center of each puff pastry square.
  6. If using, sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves and chopped nuts.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with additional honey before serving.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead option, prepare the bites up to step 5 and refrigerate. Bake just before serving.
  • These bites are best served warm.
  • You can substitute cream cheese for goat cheese if preferred.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the goat cheese mixture for a sweet and spicy kick.
