- 1 bunch fresh asparagus
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- Prepare your grill for medium-high heat. Clean the grates well.
- Snap off the tough, woody ends of the asparagus spears.
- Toss the asparagus spears in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper until lightly coated.
- Place the asparagus directly on the hot grill grates, perpendicular to the grates to prevent falling through.
- Grill for 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is bright green and tender-crisp.
- Remove the asparagus from the grill. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the spears before serving.
Notes
- For easier handling on the grill, you can thread the spears onto metal skewers.
- If you do not have a grill, you can roast this recipe in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
