Make crisp-tender grilled asparagus with a bright lemon finish. This easy grilling side dish delivers peak flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare your grill for medium-high heat. Clean the grates well.
  2. Snap off the tough, woody ends of the asparagus spears.
  3. Toss the asparagus spears in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper until lightly coated.
  4. Place the asparagus directly on the hot grill grates, perpendicular to the grates to prevent falling through.
  5. Grill for 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is bright green and tender-crisp.
  6. Remove the asparagus from the grill. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the spears before serving.

Notes

  • For easier handling on the grill, you can thread the spears onto metal skewers.
  • If you do not have a grill, you can roast this recipe in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
