Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 large flour tortillas
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
Spoon about 1/2 cup of the sloppy joe mixture onto the center of each tortilla.
Top the sloppy joe mixture with about 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a burrito.
Heat the butter or oil in a clean skillet or on a griddle over medium heat.
Place the burritos seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve immediately.
Notes
You can use leftover sloppy joe mixture for this recipe.
Adjust the sweetness and spice of the sloppy joe mixture to your preference.
Ensure your tortillas are warm and pliable before filling and rolling to prevent tearing.
