Make the best smash burger sauce at home in just five minutes. This creamy, tangy condiment uses simple pantry staples to deliver that signature restaurant flavor boost for your burgers, fries, or sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, and white vinegar to the bowl.
  3. Measure and add the smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Use a small whisk or fork to mix all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings if needed (add more vinegar for tang or paprika for smoke).
  6. For the best flavor, cover the sauce and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving on your smash burgers or using as an ultimate burger dipping sauce.

Notes

  • This recipe makes enough sauce for about 4 to 6 smash burgers.
  • You can substitute the sweet pickle relish with finely minced dill pickles if you prefer a less sweet profile.
  • This creamy burger spread is excellent as a sauce for patty melt sandwiches.
