Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (21 ounce) can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry pie filling.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring it is well distributed.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of lemon juice to the cream cheese mixture.
  • If you don’t have yellow cake mix, a white cake mix will also work.
  • This dessert is best served warm, but leftovers can be refrigerated.
